How to Get CIR report from CIBIL

Residents of India can now access their credit report from Credit Information Bureau (India) Limited (CIBIL) one of the leading credit rating agencies working in India. As we all are aware, CIBIL CIR is a factua record of your credit payment history compiled from information received from credit grantors. The purpose is to help credit grantors make informed lending decisions – quickly and objectively, and enable faster processing of your credit applications to help provide you speedier access to credit at better terms.

Steps to get CIR report

First you need to raise a request for your Credit Information report (CIR) thru Mail, E-Mail, Fax or Phone.

After the above mentioned step, you have to send mail after completing the consumer disclosure form along with self attested valid Identity and address proof to "Credit Information Bureau (India) Limited, P.O. Box 17, Millennium Business Park, Navi Mumbai, 400710"*.

ID Proof PAN Card/ Passport/ Voters ID
Address Proof Bank Account Statement/ Electricity Bill/ Telephone bill
Above required documents needs to be self attested hard copies
* Do not send in courier, registered or speed post to the mentioned address


Along with a Demand Draft of Rs 142.00 drawn in favour of Credit Information Bureau (India) Limited, payable at Mumbai

Once you send in the application, it takes two to three week to get the report. Unlike US or any other developed nation, there is a huge scope for improvement while ordering or processing such kind of reports.

    Hello Sir,
    I am facing a lot of problem regarding which i need some expert guidance.

    I Ravinder Kumar Budhiraja and my DOB is 09-10-1981 . I have never take credit card from any bank but when apply a loan from bank bank told me that ur name is in CIBIL .and your a/m is 96270 is pending . But I know that I have never ever receive credit card from any bank .So kindly please let me know that how to know the name of the bank it is and to whome should i contact for ..? I have contacted the CIBIl by sending them lots of Email but I don’t think so that they people are in the mood for giving me any support, they just asking me the money and when I raised the issue at Consumer Court… they just told that I have a strong reason to drag the Bank to the Consumer Forum .If any one have any idea or faced such issue in past or facing such issue please contact me I need some help in Removing my name from defaulter list and form a group to fight against such agency who are forcefully taking our hard earned money.

      In the recent times we are seeing these types of issues quite often for this what we recommend you is that get an access of your CIR (credit information report) from wherein it will show you the list of loans and credit cards which were issued under your name and as you have mentioned you have not taken any loan then please do contact the bank and CIBIL for exclusion of your name as this might have happened in error.
