DTU/NSIT Admissions 2010

Delhi Technological University (DTU), formerly Delhi College of Engineering is soon commencing its admission procedure for its various undergraduate and postgraduate courses for the 2010 academic session. The sale of Prospectus and Application Form for B.Tech. programmes of DTU will start from tomorrow, May 26, 2010 , whereas for M.Tech. programmes it will commence from June 1, 2010. The Prospectus and Application Form for PhD programmes will be made available from June 10, 2010 .

There are 14 B.Tech programmes on offer this year with a total intake of 910 seats, where 85% seats will be reserved for Delhi category students and 15% for Outside Delhi category. The admission to both Delhi and outside Delhi categories will be on the basis of rank obtained in the AIEEE-2010 examination. Those who have passed XIIth class or B.Sc. (General) or B.Sc. (Hons.) examination with minimum 60% marks in PCM are eligible to apply for the B.Tech. programmes of DTU. A candidate must additionally have passed English as a subject of study of the Senior School Certificate Examination Level.

The M.Tech. programmes will be available in 17 disciplines with 306 seats for the full-time courses and 45 seats offered on the part-time basis. Besides having secured minimum 60% marks in the prescribed qualifying examination, a candidate needs to have a valid GATE score to secure admission in a full-time M.Tech. programme . Those applying for the part-time course, need not to have GATE score but should be employed with minimum one-year experience at the time of admission.

The PhD programmes at DTU are available in following departments: Electrical, Electronics & Communication, Environmental Engineering, Polymer Science and Technology, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Applied Physics, Applied Chemistry, Applied Mathematics, Humanities and Management. To be eligible for a Ph D programme in engineering discipline one needs to have M.E./ M.Tech. degree in the appropriate branch with minimum 60% marks. For courses in Applied Sciences, one needs to have M.Sc. in appropriate branch with minimum 60% marks. Eligible candidates will be selected on the basis of personal interview conducted by the University Research Council.

The Prospectus and Application Form can be obtained either in person from the University counter on payment of Rs. 750 for B.Tech and Rs. 1000 for M.Tech & PhD programmes by Demand Draft , or by post on remitting a Demand Draft of Rs. 850/- for B.Tech and Rs. 1100 for M.Tech & PhD. programmes drawn in favour of the Registrar, DTU and payable at Delhi. The Application Form can also be downloaded from the University website www.dce.edu and submitted alongwith demand draft of Rs 750 for B.Tech and Rs. 1000 for M.Tech & PhD. programmes at the University.

The last date to submit the completed Application Forms for B.Tech and M.Tech programmes is June 21, 2010 (Monday) by 4 pm and for PhD programmes the deadline is June 25, 2010 (Friday) by 4 pm.
