National Institute of Design is internationally acclaimed as one of the finest educational and research institutions for Industrial, Communication, Textile and IT Integrated (Experiential) Design. It is an autonomous institution under the aegis of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India and is recognized by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Government of India as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization.
The institute offers fours years graduate diploma in programme in design (GDPD) at Ahmadabad campus and 2-2 and half years post graduate diploma in programme In design (PGDPD) at Ahmadabad, Gandhi nagar and Bengaluru campus
GDPD – Graduate diploma programme in Design – 100 seats – Candidates who have passed or who will appear in March 2011 for qualifying examinations under higher secondary education (10+2) or equivalent like AISSCE / IB / ICSE, etc are eligible for GDPC. Upper age limit for candidates is 20 years (relax able by three years for reserved categories) as on June 01, 2011 Four year GDPD programme offered in main campus in the following areas: Industrial design (35), Communication design (50), Textile, apparel and lifestyle design (15)
PGDPD post Graduate Diploma in Programme in Design – 245 seats – Candidates having bachelors degree or equivalent (including those who will be appearing for the qualifying examinations during the academic year (2010 – 11) are eligible for a separate test for PGDPD (please refer to eligibility criteria section in brochure) . Upper age limit for the candidates in 30 years (relax able by three years for reserved categories) as on June 01, 2011. Those applying for two disciplines should send in separate application forms for each discipline. One cannot apply for more than two PG disciplines.
