Nokia N900 officially announced

With less than one week to go for Nokia World ’09, Nokia has announced its new internet tablet PC Nokia N 900 which will have the version 5 of Linux based operating system named Maemo. As per the reports N 900 will go for sale by the end of 2009 and it would cost around 500 Euros (approx.).

Nokia N900This tablet PC will include ARM Cortex 600 Mhz Microprocessor, Upto 1 GB of application memory and 768 MB of virtual memory, 3D graphics accelerator with 32 GB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 48 GB.

Coming to its connectivity, it boasts a Quad-Band 3.5G WLAN connectivity with Wi-Fi transfer speed up to 54 Mbps.

Imaging capabilities include a 5 Megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens. Apart from 3.5 WVGA display (800 x 480) and integrated QWERTY keyboard, it will also have pre-installed assisted GPS and Ovi maps.

      It does support .mp4, .avi, .wmv, .3gp formats with codecs MPEG-4, xvid, WMV, H.263 and H.264 but there are some known issues even with these contains.

      There is an application in the development stage called the Mplayer which can play all the formats.

      But as far as now. There's no formal solution for this.
