PM unveils 3G services in India

Welcome to the third generation technology in India. PM Manmohan Singh launched the 3G technology today which is now being offered by the state-run company MTNL (Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited). The service is named ‘JADU’, which literally means ‘Magic’. Our communication Minister was also present at the location and they made their first video call today.

According to Minister for Information Technology, BSNL and MTNL have already allocated their 3G spectrum with a view to rollout 3G and Wi-Max services.

Users of Delhi can enjoy the services from today itself, whereas BSNL will launch its services from next month in Chennai.

Along with that MNP (Mobile Number Portability) will be implemented in Metros wherein the users will be able to keep their old phone numbers even after they shift between networks.
