The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will hold Central Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination 2009 on 11th October, 2009 for recruitment of Assistant Commandants (Group A) in Central Police Forces (CPF) viz. Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) . The examination will be held at various centers across the country.

For details regarding eligibility conditions, the syllabus and scheme of the examination, centers of examination, guidelines for filling up application form etc. aspirants must consult the Detailed Notice of the examination published in the Employment News/Rozgar Samachar dated 09th May, 2009.
Conditions Of Eligibility
(a) Age Limits: Candidates must have attained the age of 20 years and must not have attained the age of 25 years as on 11th August, 2009. The upper age limit is relaxable for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes and certain other categories of candidates to the extent specified in the Notice.
(b) Educational Qualifications: Degree of a recognized University or an equivalent qualification.
(C) Sex Both Male and Female candidates are eligible for appointment to CRPF and CISF. However, only Male candidates are eligible for appointment to BSF, ITBP and SSB.
(d) Physical and Medical Standards: Candidates must meet the physical and medical standards specified in Appendix VI of the Notice published in the Employment News dated 09.05.2009.
(e) NCC ‘B’ or ‘C’ Certificate Holders: Possession of NCC ‘B’ or ‘C’ Certificate will be a desirable qualification. The desirable qualifications will be given consideration at the time of Interview/ Personality Test only.
Selections will be made on the basis of a Written Examination to be conducted by the UPSC followed by the Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests to be conducted under the supervision of a Nodal Authority to be appointed by the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Personality Test/Interview to be conducted by UPSC.
The candidates must apply In the Common Application Form devised by the Commission for its examinations which can be purchased from the designated Head Post Offices/Post Offices (specified in Appendix-III of the Notice published in the Employment News dated 09.05.2009) throughout the country against cash payment of Rs.20/- (Rupees Twenty only) . Each such Form can be used only once and only for one examination. In case of any difficulty in obtaining Application Forms from the designated HPOs/POs, the candidates should immediately contact the concerned Post Master or UPSC’s “FORMS SUPPLY MONITORING CELL” over Telephone No.011 -23389366/Fax No.011-23387310.
The Examination Fee will be Rs.100/- (Rupees One Hundred only) to be paid through Central Recruitment Fee Stamp only. SC/ST candidates are exempted from payment of Fee. (OBC candidates are required to pay full fee).
Address and last date for receipt of applications
All applications must reach the “Secretary, Union Public Service Commission, Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi — 110 069 ” either by hand or by Post/Speed Post or by Courier, on or before the 08 June, 2009. However, in respect of candidates residing abroad or in certain remote areas specified in the Notice published in the Employment News dated 09.05.2009, the last date for receipt of applications by Post/Speed Post only (not by Hand or by Courier) is 15th June, 2009.
